Here is a list of 15 White Label Content Management System which can help you in starting a web design career.
1. WordPress:
The grand Daddy of all the CMS out there. It is hugely popular and according to a recent report, WP powers almost 15% of websites all over the world. There are lots of plugins which you can use to White Label and rebrand worpdpress as your own. The cost is free and community is huge.
2. Light CMS:
A hugely popular CMS with over 1,75,000 users worldwide. It is a hosted CMS with and touts designers as its target users. The most notable aspect LIGHT CMS is that it does try to be everything to everyone. Its main aim is to enable users to create a beautiful website with minimal effort. When it comes to advanced options Light CMS has an online storefront which integrates with popular payment gateway platforms. The best part is that it allows you to add/edit products from right inside the page without need to any dashboard.
3. SetSeed CMS:
These guys term themselves as a revolutionary white label CMS. Dont really know what can be revolutionary in a cms? The website looks slick and so does their product. Designers / Developers need to self host the product. It is available in two versions, standard and white label. Pricing is $72 for standard version and 144$ for white label version.
4. White CMS
The name says it all. White CMS is… well.. a White Label CMS (sounds weird?). It can be branded and resold as your own. Its comes with standard feature set. Functionality can be extended with modules. It currently has modules like blog, forum ,e-commerce etc. It is a hosted CMS and pricing starts from 25 pounds per month and goes upto 100 pounds.
5. Polaris CMS:
Another hosted CMS with a white label Options. Polaris has 15 day free trial to check out the product. Polaris porvides volume discounts based on the number of sites you build using the CMS. The discounts start above 5 sites. It comes with all the standard features like event, blog, media management. They also have an E-Commerce version of Polaris CMS. Polaris CMS is developed by creators of Onlybusiness.com, a DIY Website Builder.
6. Monk Development:
This CMS was not developed by Dalai Lama. It is a product of Monk development inc, a company based in CS USA. Monk CMS has content management, media management and event management as is core features. It can extended with usage of modules like forum, e-commerce, social networking, events, blog etc. This white label CMS is also available as hosted version. Pricing is not mentioned on the website.
7. Elefant CMS:
Apart from the base product they also offer modules for additional functionality. Some of the modules are form builder, analytics, wiki app, etc. It is built on PHP and MYSQL. Cureently under beta testing ()
8. Weebly:
It started as a website builder and has currently morphed into a fairly powerful cms which designers can use to develop site for their clients. It is a hosted product and they charge per site per month. The plan starts from 5 dollars / month for a 5 page website. The USP of weebly platform is that it is a very intutive and your clients will feel comfortable making changes themselves. Weebly is also available as a White Label CMS.
9. Hero Framework :
HeroCMS is built on CodeIgniter Framework. For those of you who dont know, Codeigniter is an immensely popular PHP development Framework. Available both as a download and hosted version.
10. Buzzr:
White label CMS with a beautiful looking website. The plans start from 7.95 dollars per month and goes up to 39.85 dollars per month. The pricing is really strange and I cant understand why they charge 39.85 dollars instead of 39 or 40. Buzzr is built on Drupal , A super popular CMS framework.
11. Interspire:
Interspire is the company behind BigCommerce, a hosted Shopping Cart. Interspire also has a Website Builder Product. It is a downloadable product. They also run a partner program where you can signup to become a partner. They have over 1400 partners all over the world.
12. Surreal CMS:
Surreal is a design focused website builder. It does not have advanced features like blogs, ecommerce, calendar, events etc. Instead it only focuses on creating beautiful and simple websites. One unique thing about Surreal is that it publishes the website on your web host i.e you get to keep the files. Simple provide FTP details in the Admin Dashboard and you can deploy the website on your own server. Pricing starts at 10 dollars/month
13. Pagelime:
Page Lime is a simple CMS for web designers. The differentiating factor for Pagelime that it is really simple and it keep things basic. There is no Blog or E-Commerce functionality included. This could both be a positive and a negative. While new users might like PageLime for its simplicity advanced users might prefer to look somewhere else. It is also available as a white label product and allows resellers to set their own prices.
14. CMS Gecko:
Gecko is a simple CMS available under 3 licenses Pro, Business and White Label. The white Label allows for full re-branding and unlimited installation. It has a hooks system like WordPress which allows developers to create plugins which can integrate with Gecko CMS.
15. Biz Catalyst from Adobe
It is an all-in-one platform for building websites and estores. Biz Catalyst is brought to you by Adobe and has lots of advanced features like Content Management, Ecommerce. Contact Management and Email Marketing. It comes across as a very powerful product ideal for building large applications. The pricing starts from 5.99 dollars/month and goes upto 34.99 dollars/month.
