HeroCMS is built on CodeIgniter Framework. For those of you who dont know, Codeigniter is an immensely popular PHP development Framework. Available both as a download and hosted version.

This could both be a positive and a negative. While new users might like PageLime for its simplicity advanced users might prefer to look somewhere else. It is also available as a white label product and allows resellers to set their own prices.
